"My business quickly went from mobile to my very own studio, and now I have a new store front coming soon."
A little over four years ago, I started my journey to success as an Xtreme Lashes® Lash Stylist and Educator. It all started with a dream, an idea, and a want. I dreamt I would own a business again and proudly be my own boss. After the financial market crashed some years ago I suffered a major loss financially, and professionally. Recovery was difficult but I never lost sight of what I wanted my end result to be. I loved being an entrepreneur and being in charge of my time and my life. I wanted to be very successful, and amazing at whatever it was that I chose to do. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but I wasn’t sure it would all come together. So, I continued to live with these plans in my heart. After the market crashed I had to find employment in education. There, I found myself helping students to live their dream by seeking different levels of education. I would say to them “It’s not how you start but it’s how you finish. You still have the power to make a difference in your life.” But one day, I was tired of encouraging someone else to live their dream while I wasn’t living my own. I would think about the beauty industry a lot. It’s something that I grew up around my entire life and I loved it! I watched my mother as she changed lives just by a simple hairstyle or a simple conversation she would have with a client. I too wanted to make women feel and look beautiful every day, just like her.
So, when I was presented with the opportunity to assist students to help them pursue their dreams in the beauty industry by way of admissions at a local beauty school, I was on board. As a MAC Makeup Artist I absolutely loved the atmosphere and culture of the beauty school students. I too wanted what I was selling. I decided to go back to school at night and obtain my Esthetician License so that I would be taken seriously as an Artist and have the possibility to one day teach in a classroom. Well, my dream came true, I was asked to begin teaching the Makeup Artistry Program at the local Beauty School shortly after graduation. I happily said “Yes” without hesitation. I soon found out an eyelash extension course was part of my new responsibilities. I was familiar with extensions but not very. As I started to teach, I very quickly realized this program needed an overhaul. I begged the owner of the school to allow me to do some research to find a better educational program for our students.
Finally, I was granted permission to begin my search. I started out very excited and then very quickly lost that excitement when many brand name companies had no interest in what I needed, which was a better educational program for the beauty school students. Just as I was about to give up hope, Xtreme Lashes was my final call of the day. This is the day that changed my life forever. I spoke with the education department and shared my ideas, concerns, needs, and desires. Xtreme met me with just as much excitement and willingness to make this idea into a successful educational program for our students at the beauty school. After many negotiations and long conversations, we became the first Xtreme Lashes Academy of Lash Artistry® in South Florida. I was flown to California, Colorado, Michigan, and Houston, TX, to train with some of the best Trainers of Xtreme Lashes. I couldn’t wait to start my new career as an Xtreme Lashes Lash Stylist and Trainer. I hit the ground running and never looked back. My business quickly went from mobile to my very own studio, and now I have a new store front coming soon.
